When one has a career of more than 4 decades and a list of about 180 movies in the account; there are high chances that one is bound to make some mistakes. Same happened with the mega star of Indian cinema has ever seen; Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. Though most of his movies have led to completely stuffed movie halls with people waiting hours at the ticket window to get the tickets for his movie; there were some of the movies that he had chosen to do which proved to be a huge disappointment for his fans worldwide. Every man makes the mistakes and Amitabh’s mistakes gave some of the worst movies of his career. With disappointed fans and drought like conditions at box office; here are 10 worst movies of Amitabh Bachchan:
10. Ajooba (1991)

We adore fantasy films; yes we do. And the movies where the actors play the role of vigilantes taking care and fighting for the common masses are a treat; provided they are played by the right actor. And though Amitabh is a superb actor; even he looked ridiculous when he wore a mask and acted as the protector of the people in Baharistan. It was shocking how Amitabh even accepted the role in the first place!
9. Mrityudaata (1997)

Just imagine there is a film with Amitabh in the lead as well as the title character and still the best thing in the movie is a song sung by Punjabi Singer Daler Mehndi. And it is not that it is the best performance by Daler; it is that the movie didn’t actually have anything else to offer. With loose screenplay and Amitabh fighting to regain his strength on the silver screen; the movie proved to be a huge disappointment for Amitabh’s fans.
8. Lal Baadshah (1999)

This movie brought Amitabh with a tone of Bihari and that was supposed to bring a flavor of comedy in the recipe rather it actually brought tragedy. Well Bollywood viewers in their share have seen ridiculous coupling with over age heroes pairing with young heroines (case for instance Salman’s pairing with numerous heroines!); but this one was still a topper for ridiculous pairing. If you are going to make Shilpa Shetty and Manisha Koirala the love affairs of Amitabh Bachchan in the movie; we wonder what you were even thinking.
7. Jaadugar (1989)

So you decide to make Amitabh a magician in the movie and name him Goga and develop a plot so weak that even kids can write better stories than that and you expect it to be a hit; simply shocking. What was even more shocking about this film that this film was an outcome of the collective efforts of Prakash Mehra and Amitabh Bachchan who almost every time else brought success and celebrations at the box office. Since the director actor pairing (Amitabh and Prakash) lost their magical touch after this movie; this became their last as the team.
6. Toofan (1989)

The first thought that comes to your mind after seeing the poster of this movie; what was the costume designer of the movie even thinking? And no matter what he was thinking; did he make Amitabh agree to wear this costume at the gunpoint? A story that was almost more used than the local train of Mumbai a pairing gone ridiculous and many other flaws were responsible for the sinking of this movie. Viewers may search for this film on the internet on their own risk!
5. Insaniyat (1994)

If it were not for the worst movies ever; this movie would not have ever been talked about. You have not heard about this movie; believe me you have not missed anything. The movie is about a police officer who seeks the help of 2 criminals in a fight against terrorism. When Amitabh decides to do a movie like this; who will blame Sunny for such a choice? The movie is one of the least rated Amitabh’s movies on internet with IMDB granting it a rating of 3.2 (we wonder even what got them 3.2!).
4. Akayla (1991)

Watch this movie and you will realize that not that it has spoiled your mood but it consumed 3 hours of your life that you are never getting back. And though there are songs that you wish would not have released before you lose your hearing power; the Rampyari song somewhere stands ‘Akayla’ in the list of those songs! This movie was just another choice gone wrong for Amitabh in his already dark phase of his career.
3. Boom (2003)

Amitabh’s mistake like this actually made his fans doubt his acting and movie preferences. Even a person from non-filmy background can understand that this movie was bound to see the crash. This boom was actually the boom that takes a building to the grounds and the building in case was Amitabh Bachchan. Just imagine the kind of disappointment it was that even Amitabh’s portrayal of gangster Bade Mia and the collective hotness brought by Katrina, Madhu Sapre and Padma Lakshmi could not lure audiences to view movie. Its IMDB rating is 2.3; do we need say anything else?
2. Teen Patti (2010)

Even Shraddha Kapoor is happy that she is not remembered playing a role in this movie. Amitabh’s charm with talented actor Madhavan and international star Ben Kingsley; all of it collectively went to waste in the movie (and we didn’t even count the beauty of Shraddha Kapoor!). The movie held high expectations and when it sunk down; definitely it looked like there was not even a single card big enough in this Teen Patti!
1. Ram Gopal Varma ki Aag (2007)

Directors often try that their movie does not have to face the comparison from a hit movie. What to say about RGV who willingly made the remake of the biggest film in the history of Indian cinema and not only this but also managed to screw it. And he managed to cause the damage even after taking stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Ajay Devgan in it. At least RGV would be happy that IMDB is listing it in the name of Ram Gopal Varma’s Indian flames (Oops did we just disclosed the biggest secret!). Its IMDB ranking is 1.9 and even that shows the generosity of IMDB.
So these were 10 worst movies of Amitabh Bachchan that we wish he would not have done. But like Sachin also goes back to pavilion at the score of zero sometimes; this was just like that for Amit Ji.
